Radio absolutely sucks these days (with the exception of Satellite Radio, podcasts, and internet radio). It's become a cesspool of "local" flavor, bad humor, Prepburger bits/jokes, phone scams, and song parodies. But on September 25, 2006, 97.1 radio personality Mike Valenti blew up on the air. The reason? His Michigan State Spartans blew a 16-point lead in the fourth quarter to Notre Dame. Some of his "fantastic" material includes an H.R. Puff and Stuff reference and "choking on applesauce".
In fact, this rant made it into Sports Illustrated and was parodied by The Bang Cartoon Hour in Columbus, Ohio. The parody was done after the Ohio State Buckeyes had lost to the Fighting Illini of Illinois.
